:: Welcome to Nick Ski :: Last room 6th Feb 2016 ::
Hello, I'm Nick and own and run Nick Ski, an independent catered ski chalet company operating one chalet, Chalet Juba. My partner and I run the chalet ourselves and you'll always be assured of a warm Nick Ski welcome and plenty of great food and wine, a spotless chalet and consistent service. I'd like to share my passion
for skiing and great food in a wonderful forest setting with you. Next season 2015/2016 will be my 15th winter season running Nick Ski and it will actually be my last season. Rest assured it will be the best with all our favourite recipes and great wine selction click here to read more. I take full and part-chalet bookings and for part-chalet bookings by adults we guarantee no small children, toddlers or babies in the remaining rooms outside of UK school holidays. Families with pre-school children are of course welcome to book the whole chalet.
conditions the chalet is literally ski to the door (see photo on What's New page). The green run is 50 metres away from the chalet and has snow cannons so everyone can ski home. Our location is perfect for your skiing holiday.
Chalet Juba was purpose-built to my specifications; all rooms en suite, plenty of hot water, boot driers, large bootroom etc and is in the pine (Norway Spruce - Christmas tree) forests of La Tania which is situated between Courchevel and Meribel in the largest and best skiing area in the world known as The Three Valleys/ Les Trois Vallees.
I used to be a Rep. for the Ski Club of Great Britain (SCGB) and
know the whole area incredibly well and can advise on the best
routes to take and the best runs to try and the daily "piste du jour" (follow me on Twitter, no boring Tweets I promise; @NickSkiLaTania).
We offer a traditional catered chalet service (demi-pension, 6 nights a week) with great wines from the Autumn "Wine Fairs" and hope you enjoy them too. I have always loved cooking and we have planned delicious home-cooked meals for you. On our day off you prepare your own breakfast in the chalet and eat out in one of the local restaurants in the evening.
Our aim is to make your skiiing holiday a special and memorable occasion and many of our guests return each year and we would like to welcome lots of new guests as well. There are some older reviews on www.latania.co.uk which has mostly been superceeded by Trip Advisor Nick Ski Trip Advisor , Reviews by Previous Guests (on latania.co.uk)

About La Tania ::
Tania was purpose built for the 1992 Winter Olympic Games and has
plenty of nice bars and restaurants with live music most nights of the week; Pizzas, Michelin Star Gourmet Food, Cocktail Lounge, Savoyard Fayre, English Pub, Modern Euro/British Bistro etc. Pub le Ski Lodge is particularly popular with lots of promotions and party nights and the Taiga Bar and Telemark Hotel nice for a quieter drink. There are several ski hire shops, all freindly and very good, and a small supermarket, newsagent,post office and tourist office. It's a 5 minute walk to the resort centre from the chalet. You can also have your equipment delivered to the chalet to save some time.
Access to skiing is perfect; a modern Gondola and then a fast
chair lift which whisks you to the top of the mountain in no time, straight into either the Meribel or Courchevel
Valleys. The new 6 seater chair, Bouc Blanc replaced 2 POMA/drag lifts last winter and allows access to Courchevel 1850 via a green run. Of course La Tania also has some great runs of its own. At the end of the day there are 3 lovely tree-lined runs back to the resort and the blue and green have snow cannons all the way down.
:: The Three Valleys ::
The area is incredibly vast with nearly 400 miles of pisted runs, of which over 150 miles have snow cannons. We never get bored skiing the Three Valleys and many guests return each year.
We regularly ski to Val Thorens and the 4th Valley, Orelle in a day.
There is an incredible amount of off-piste skiing lasting many days after snow-falls.
is also a free bus service to Courchevel Le Praz and up to 1850 which operates
until late evening.
